Suggested Use and Prohibitions: Desiccants, solvent and polyols applications. Triethylene glycol (TEG) is a colorless, viscous liquid with a slight odor. It is non-flammable, mildly toxic, and considered non-hazardous. TEG is a member of a homologous series of dihydroxy alcohols. It is used as a plasticizer for vinyl polymers as well as in the manufacture of air sanitizer and other consumer products.

Monoethylene glycol is a colorless, practically odorless, low-volatility, low-viscosity, hygroscopic liquid. It is completely miscible with water and in many organic liquids. MEG is mainly used in the production of polyester, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and antifreeze solutions. Its hygroscopicity makes it useful as a conditioning agent in adhesives, cork, vinyl floor tiles, synthetic rubber, cellulose sponges, printing inks and paper products.
